I ANSWER HIS BODY AND BLOOD
My Lord and my God,
Jesus Christ,
Faithful Witness,
First-Born of the dead,
King of kings!
I hold to your rising in
flesh and blood.
I hold to the good tidings of
grace and peace you give me through your apostolic Church:
as the Father sent you,
so you send me,
breathing the Holy Spirit
upon me to anoint me.
I am your servant, Lord—
I am your servant and the son
of your handmaid.
You have burst my bonds,
and so I will offer you a
sacrifice of praise.
To this I hold,
and in this I glory.
You love me and have freed me
from my sins by your blood.
You anointed me and gave me a
share in your kingship—
to offer royal worship to
your God and Father,
with whom you live and reign
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
One God to be glorified for
ever and ever.
