In his new book, Pope Francis and the Liturgy: The Call to Holiness and Mission, Irwin - the longtime chairman of liturgical studies at the Catholic University of America - explores how Francis understands the liturgy in relationship to his two recent predecessors and how he’s using it in his own way to “hear the voice of the Lord and feel welcomed.”
